One of the best Falcons players, kicker Younghoe Koo, is the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for the final month of the regular season.

If you can believe it, he just wrapped up his fourth season with the Falcons already, and what better way to do it than being the Special Teams Player of the Month for the NFC conference?

Falcons star kicker Younghoe Koo is the NFL’s Special Teams Player of the Month in the NFC

It has been a fun ride for the Falcons with Younghoe Koo as their kicker. He has been stellar after taking the reigns from franchise legend Matt Bryant. There isn’t an easier player to root for in the NFL than Koo.

After a perfect final five games, Koo was selected as the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for the second time in his career. Perhaps his best kick—although a chip shot—was his game-winner against the Arizona Cardinals to help secure the first career win in Desmond Ridders’ career.

He received the honors for going 12/12 in field goals, two of which were from 50+ yards, and was a perfect 7/7 on PATs. He scored 43 points for his team in December and January.

On the season, he was perfect (16/16) on field goals under 40 yards, only missed one kick (9/10) from 40 to 49 yards, and missed four (7/11) from 50 or more yards. He made 33/35 of his PATs and scored a total of 129 points. It is also worth pointing out that he was perfect on kicks under 50 yards in his final 15 games.

This came after he signed an extension worth just over $24 million over five years with the Atlanta Falcons during the offseason. It was a smart move by the front office as nothing is worse than losing a game due to your kicker not being able to do his job, just ask the Carolina Panthers about that.
