The Atlanta Falcons 2022 season ended much the same as 2021 with a 7-10 record and a myriad of missed opportunities. While the lack of execution in close games continues to be a concern it is important to point out that the Falcons were without a reliable quarterback and dealing with a much tougher schedule than the 2021 season offered.

Atlanta took a step forward this past season when you consider what they accomplished with limited talent and no answers at the quarterback position. Marcus Mariota was lost as a passer for much of the season and Desmond Ridder was underwhelming in the season’s final four weeks. Leaving this team to miss the stability Matt Ryan brought for most of his tenure in Atlanta.

Despite the issues, at quarterback, the Falcons did manage to beat three playoff teams in 2022 by far their most impressive wins. Though in fairness Atlanta’s last win against a playoff team was hardly fair when you consider who finished the game for an organization that has haunted the Falcons over the past three years.
