The Atlanta Falcons season ended on a high note nearly two weeks ago with the Falcons finally beating Tampa Bay for the first time in three years. For the first time in five years, Falcons fans have reason to believe this team is heading in the right direction.

With the ability to open up massive cap space and bring in a much-needed infusion of talent, the Falcons will have to part ways with a number of players this off-season. With all of their star players already locked up for at least one more season Atlanta’s losses will be through free agents they part ways with or cap casualties with these five Falcons, in particular, unlikely to return to the team next season.

5. Feleipe Franks

Feleipe Franks was a fun story throughout Atlanta Falcons camp converting from quarterback to tight-end and attempting to make the roster.  Arthur Smith loves players who can fill multiple roles and Franks filled that description with his history at quarterback, ability to play special teams, and now tight-end.

Once camp ended, however, Franks went from a fun story to a wasted roster spot. This is now two years in a row that Franks has made the roster and failed to make an impact. Franks is an obvious roster cut to make room for a player capable of impacting the game.

Franks isn’t a quarterback or a tight end in this league. The only value he brings is positional flexibility though this trait is rather useless if you can’t make an impact at any of the positions you play. It is time to part ways with Feleipe Franks.
