4. Put Cordarrelle Patterson back in a utility role

In the final games this season it became completely clear that Tyler Allgeier is the starting running back on this team. Patterson is an elite weapon but Allgeier clearly is the traditional running back and should be the starter heading into the 2023 season.

The Falcons should find a third option at running back during the off-season transitioning Patterson back to a utility role. If Atlanta can find a third running option they can rely on it will allow Patterson to be on the field more often with Allgeier. Whether it is lining up at fullback or receiver Patterson’s ability to create big plays is elite and going to keep him an integral part of this offense.

Starting Allgeier as a traditional running back and returning Patterson to the utility role he played so well during his first season in Atlanta should be a priority for the offense. Patterson is a fan favorite and for good reason with how he carries himself on and off the field during his time in Atlanta. Finding a way to have him more involved is good both for your offense as a whole and a fanbase that loves the veteran utility man.
