Atlanta Falcons shake up the first round with blockbuster trade in mock draft
By Nick Halden
Kelee Ringo might be viewed as an odd choice considering Atlanta’s strength at the corner position but bear with the reasoning for a moment if you will. The best pass rushers, receivers, and fits for Atlanta are already off the board by the time they pick even with their original draft pick.
Everything after the first few picks in this year’s draft is a guessing game at this point and if Atlanta is forced to gamble they could do far worse than Ringo. The corner is a gambler at the position but has big play ability and would pair perfectly with A.J. Terrell and veteran Casey Hayward Jr.
The Falcons could still bring back Isaiah Oliver as well giving them a very talented secondary and a player who will develop into a great corner in Ringo. Kelee will gamble and lose at times as we watched during his time at Georgia, however, his size and speed often covers up his mistakes and allows the corner to make plays that will change games at the next level. With Atlanta’s coaching and the benefit of working with Hayward and Terrell, Ringo would be a homerun for the Falcons and help the defense take a huge step forward for a group that is already looking strong heading into next season.
