3. Myles Murphy

After Anderson and Carter, Myles Murphy is clearly the best defensive player in the draft and could realistically fall to the Falcons. Unlike Carter or Stroud the Falcons shouldn’t entertain moving up in the draft for Murphy hoping the pass rusher is still on the board when their draft number is called. The most realistic options for the Falcons with the 8th pick is landing either Murphy or TCU receiver Quentin Johnston.

Murphy wouldn’t completely solve Atlanta’s pass rush issues but would be a huge step in that direction. Unlike former Clemson and Atlanta pass rusher Vic Beasley Jr. Murphy has the needed size and speed to consistently win at the next level. Drafting another Clemson pass rusher inside the top ten will be a risky move for the Falcons but one they should make if Carter and Stroud are long off the board as expected.

If all three are drafted before Atlanta picks 8th Quentin Johnston as a starter alongside Drake London is an ideal pick for a team that badly needs to add pass catchers this off-season.
