The Atlanta Falcons picked the perfect time to beat Tom Brady and the Bucs beating Tampa in their final regular-season game. Okay perhaps it was against Kyle Trask and the Bucs’ backup but the loss shows up on Brady’s record all the same.

Brady was no longer feared in the NFC South even if he was still owed great respect. Whether it was age or the team itself the Bucs were far from the team they had been and Tom decided it was time to step away.

Announcing his retirement earlier this past week sent shockwaves through the league and will have a ripple effect on the rest of the league. For the NFC South, it completely opens up the division for the Falcons and the Panthers as the clear favorites heading into the off-season.

Atlanta needs to simply have a competent off-season to be division favorites and have a real reason to believe they will be hosting a home playoff game at the end of the 2023 season. Despite all of the good things happening for the Falcons Brady will continue to haunt a franchise that he embarrassed on the biggest stage.
