Cordarrelle Patterson lobbies for Falcons to sign 5-time Pro Bowl WR
While most NFL players—at least those who aren’t preparing for the Super Bowl—like to be at home relaxing while not thinking about the sport they just spent the last eight months obsessing over, Falcons’ do-it-all playmaker, Cordarrelle Patterson, is giving his general manager some advice on who to sign.
This comes after he suggested that the Falcons hire Steve Wilks or Brian Flores as their defensive coordinator, but when they didn’t, he commented on how they never listen to him. To his credit, he isn’t letting that get in the way of suggesting who his next teammate should be.
Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson wants to team up with WR Keenan Allen
As we currently stand right now, the Falcons wouldn’t be able to sign Los Angeles Chargers receiver Keenan Allen, but Cordarrelle Patterson is clearly keeping up with all the latest NFL news as a recent rumor suggests the Chargers will end up cutting their veteran WR.
Much like many other teams, the Chargers will be trying to find cap space where they can find it and that may result in Allen having to find a new team for the first time in his ten-year career.
There is a need for the Atlanta Falcons at receiver. Obviously, Drake London is their prized possession but past him, they only have Frank Darby, Jared Bernhardt, Josh Ali, and Ra’Shaun Henry. Assuming LA cuts Allen, bringing him in wouldn’t be the worst idea. He would be a proven player who can help London become even better.
However, the huge concern would be his health. He has missed ten games over the past three seasons, which isn’t horrible but he isn’t getting any younger at the age of 30. Just think of how quick Julio Jones’ career turned upside down due to injuries.
And then there is the age-old question of if a 30-year-old wide receiver would be willing to join a franchise that hasn’t had a winning season in half a decade. Only time will tell.
