The story of the Atlanta Falcons off-season will be what the team’s front office decides to do at the quarterback position. Whether they build a complete roster the right way or attempt to swing big and bring in a star quarterback in free agency or through trade.

Atlanta has been the top team speculated as a potential landing spot for Lamar Jackson. It seems extremely unlikely that Baltimore will allow Jackson to leave considering the impact he has had on the franchise.  Letting a quarterback of Lamar’s level walk away in his prime isn’t a move that has happened often in NFL history.

Whether it is Lamar or another top quarterback the Falcons need to be extremely wary of spending what it takes to land a player of Lamar’s caliber. Looking at the top quarterback trades over the last three years three moves, in particular, stand out that the Atlanta front office must learn from. Moves that should push the Atlanta Falcons in the direction of building around Ridder and not swing big and risking missing completely.
