The Atlanta Falcons have been the speculated landing spot of star quarterback Lamar Jackson if the Ravens decide to part ways with their star.  Atlanta makes sense on the surface when you consider the wide-open division and Desmond Ridder’s average performance in the final four games.

Add in Arthur Smith’s run-heavy offensive style with Jackson getting the best combination of weapons in his career in Allgeier, Patterson, London, and Pitts this deal makes a level of sense. Lamar would make Atlanta instant NFC South favorites and make them the most interesting they have been since Matt Ryan’s MVP season.

However, when you begin to look closely at a potential trade for the star quarterbacks the reasons to avoid the deal far outweigh the potential benefits. Jackson is a star player who is going to elevate any franchise he is a part of.

The Falcons’ issue with trading for Lamar are far too obvious and cannot be ignored for a team that already derailed themselves last off-season chasing a quarterback. The reasons this trade isn’t going to happen are blatant.
