Atlanta Falcons trade option #2

If you’re Baltimore and you decide to do the unlikely and trade your star quarterback there is zero question about who is in the driver’s seat in negotiations.  Atlanta decides to trade impact players in this scenario cutting down on the draft cost and giving Baltimore a frightening tandem in Kyle Pitts and Mark Andrews. It perfectly fits the sets the Ravens love to run and would give their next quarterback an elite weapon that was misused last season in Atlanta.

Now is again a great time for a reminder that this is simply an exercise in creating potential packages that could land Lamar. Not a suggestion that this is what the Atlanta Falcons should or will do. The problem with any of these potential deals is the same.

Baltimore is going to win in the trade in the immediate forcing the Falcons into the same situation they were in after the Super Bowl six years ago. A team that is forced to shop in the bargain aisles and must execute on late-round picks to have a chance to improve and compete. Trading Pitts would be a mistake and create the same problem the Falcons had in the 2021 season setting Matt Ryan up for the worst season of his career.
