The story of the Atlanta Falcons off-season will be how they choose to use the massive cap space they have worked to open up after years of bad contracts. Whether that cap space is used to attempt to land a top quarterback or to build around Desmond Ridder will be the most debated and talked about point for Atlanta during the off-season.

Clearly, unless a star quarterback falls to Atlanta for a reasonable price the best move for the team is building around Desmond Ridder. Atlanta’s roster isn’t a quarterback away from being a serious playoff contender in the NFC.

They need the majority of their cap space and draft picks to be able to focus on building a complete roster and giving Ridder the best chance to be a successful starter.

Even if Atlanta makes the poor decision to move off of Ridder and bring in a new starter this off-season there are clear top quarterback options the team must avoid. Players that would push the franchise in the wrong direction after what was a painful rebuild.
