If the Falcons cannot land Jessie Bates or C.J. Gardner-Johnson this off-season it wouldn’t be the worst move to simply run it back with the same pieces in the secondary. Atlanta’s secondary played hard and as a whole would have been a good unit if Atlanta was able to generate anything resembling a pass rush.

Atlanta’s secondary could look a lot different with Oliver a free agent and Casey Hayward a potential cap cut. There is also the chance Atlanta decides to give this trio one more season to prove what they can do when healthy.

Oliver has shown flashes of being a reliable corner, however, the consistency hasn’t been there due to mental mistakes and injuries. Despite this Oliver remains a great option for Atlanta to re-sign behind Hayward and Terrell giving the team a secondary they are familiar with quickly allowing the team to focus on more pressing positions. Bringing Oliver back is the second most important decision behind whether McGary returns. After those two players every one of Atlanta’s free agents can be easily replaced.
