1. Tyler Allgeier 2022 5th Round Pick

Finding impact players in the final three rounds of the draft is difficult. Allgeier was a pick expected to provide depth behind Damien Williams and Cordarrelle Patterson heading into the 2022 season. Six months later and Allgeier is a 1,000 yard rusher as a rookie and will be the starter for the Falcons heading into the 2023 season.

Allgeier is clearly Atlanta’s best pick in the last two seasons based on the impact he had on the team in one season compared to the degree of difficulty of finding a player of his caliber in the 5th round.

Allgeier is exactly the missing piece that Arthur Smith’s offense needed setting a tone and never giving up on a run fighting for every inch no matter the situation. It is fun to watch and has given Atlanta fans a reason to believe in a run game that was struggling to find any consistency over the past four years.

Allgeier set the tone and took over the starting job making the most of early opportunities and getting stronger seemingly with every snap. It is a great fit for Smith’s offense and the biggest win in the draft for the Falcons so far.
