2. Brandin Cooks

The Atlanta Falcons’ options are very limited in free agency when it comes to adding a receiver who can have a star-level impact. Looking at the possible trade or salary cap cuts market Cooks stands out as a possibility. Cooks has two seasons left on his deal and is obviously overpaid at this point in his career.

Cooks has made it clear he no longer wants to be in Houston and the Texans should be expected to cut or trade the veteran receiver this off-season. Either way, Atlanta should be in the mix for a player with only two years left on his deal that would complete the Atlanta offense. Before this season Cooks had put together four straight seasons of over 1,000 yards and with at least five touchdowns.

Brandin would provide the veteran Atlanta lacks at the position while still offering the chance for elite production paired with Kyle Pitts and Drake London.  Atlanta isn’t going to be able to land one of the top free agent or trade options. As a run-first team with an unproven quarterback, their options are going to be landing a player like Cooks coming off of a down season or slightly overpaying.
