2. Bijan Robinson

Bijan Robinson’s slot in the draft drastically changes based on what mock or expert you prefer to listen to. The continuing theme, however, is Robinson is going to be a first-round pick and have a huge day-one impact wherever he lands. Arthur Smith’s run-heavy offense and the likely fact that the top pass rushers and quarterbacks are off the board will make Robinson a speculated fit for Atlanta.

Drafting Robinson or any running back within the first three rounds of the draft would be a mistake for the Falcons. Already you have your starter in Tyler Allgeier and an elite backup in Cordarrelle Patterson. Atlanta needs to add a third option to help in the rotation or in case of injury, not another starting option.

Taking a running back early in the draft has worked but for Atlanta, there are zero reasons to take the risk with Allgeier and Patterson both under contract next season. If Allgeier regressed next season then would be time for Atlanta to consider adding to the position. For now the only position for Atlanta that should be ruled in the first round on either side of the ball is running back.
