5 Tight Ends the Atlanta Falcons could pair with Kyle Pitts
By Nick Halden
1. Hayden Hurst
After watching Hayden Hurst with Joe Burrow and the Bengals it is fair to say the tight end was underutilized in his final season with the Falcons. Hurst had great playoff moments and an impact despite playing with three great receivers and two running backs who can contribute in the passing game at times.
Hurst finished the regular season with 414 yards adding in 141 playoff yards. Hayden spent two seasons with the Falcons having a great first year before being taken out of the offense in his second season. Hurst still played a role but saw his target number drop by fifty. This alone may rule Hurst out as a potential target so soon after a frustrating season with the Falcons, however, the fit makes sense for both sides and would give Ridder a reliable veteran target.
Hurst would often be on the field considering Arthur Smith’s preference for heavy packages and allow Pitts to split out and hunt mismatches. Hurst fit well with Joe Burrow and the Bengals for Atlanta to land the tight end back would likely require a slight overpay one that could prove worth it considering what Hayden brings to Atlanta.
