Terry Fontenot has had an underrated tenure as the Atlanta Falcons’ general manager thus far. The GM has done an incredible job of hitting on late draft picks, locking up veteran talent, and shedding Atlanta’s terrible contracts.

Fontenot will be facing one big decision when it comes to Atlanta’s pending free agents this off-season and that is whether to pay right tackle, Kaleb McGary.

Aside from McGary, Atlanta’s roster is in great shape with building blocks and void of all bad contracts. Grady Jarrett, Chris Lindstrom, and Jake Matthews are scheduled to be Atlanta’s highest-paid players though this could easily change with Atlanta having over $50 million to spend in free agency and plenty of positions to address.

This makes Atlanta’s team friendly and rookie contracts all the more important for a team that appears to be a few moves away from returning to division and NFC contention.
