Since the season’s conclusion, the Atlanta Falcons have been in a weird situation. No one knows if the team has faith in Desmond Ridder or if they will seize the opportunity and aggressively pursue Lamar Jackson.

Either option makes a lot of sense and you will probably pick a side but people around the NFL get the feeling that they will go after the former MVP quarterback.

Falcons are widely seen as the top suitor for Lamar Jackson, assuming Baltimore parts ways with him

Lamar Jackson is a transcendent talent, which is something that Atlanta Falcons fans are familiar with thanks to Michael Vick. It is not often that a former MVP quarterback and perhaps the most flashy player in the league becomes available.

Lamar is not available right now for the Falcons, but it seems he will be in the not-so-distant future. When, or if, he is available, people around the league see the Falcons as the top landing spot.

This might make some of you happy, and others furious. We all have our opinions but it is hard to ignore what the team could do with that type of talent at the quarterback position. He is a perfect fit for Arthur Smith.

The tweet points out that the Falcons had basically landed Deshaun Watson until the Cleveland Browns, thankfully, swooped in and offered him more money. It is a great underline because if you are willing to do it once, then you are probably willing to do it again.

Bringing in Watson was a bigger risk than bringing in Jackson would be. Jackson isn’t a year-plus removed from playing football and doesn’t have a suspension staring him in the face.

Terry Fontenot attempted a move of this magnitude last year, so why are we to think that he wouldn’t do it again?
