There is an easy case to make that the NFC South should be the Atlanta Falcons division to lose in the 2023 season.  In the worst division in a wide-open conference Atlanta’s path to hosting a playoff game to end the 2023 season is a very accomplishable goal.

It is one that Tampa Bay was able to reach this past season despite having a losing record. Aside from the Falcons and possibly Carolina, this division isn’t getting any better. Atlanta has a very easy schedule and simply needs to play better within the division to win with their current roster.

Winnable games against New Orleans and Carolina the Falcons let slip in the 2022 season and that was the difference between the Falcons winning the division and finishing in last place. This was in some ways a blessing, however, forcing the Falcons to evaluate Desmond Ridder and leaving zero question that Marcus Mariota isn’t a starting quarterback in this league. Atlanta needs to make only slight improvements this off-season and already has three clear reasons to feel they are division favorites.
