2. Carson Wentz

If Desmond Ridder cannot beat Carson Wentz the second-year quarterback doesn’t deserve the starting job. For context Wentz has lost his starting job to Jalen Hurts, Taylor Heinicke, Sam Howell, and Nick Foles at different points in his career. While losing his job to Foles was due to injury Carson was never the same quarterback after watching the veteran take Philly to the Super Bowl and beat Tom Brady.

Wentz will be on his fourth team in as many seasons and looking for a chance to find stability. It seems likely that stability is going to be backing up another quarterback. Atlanta could at least offer Wentz the chance to compete for a job in a city with low expectations for the quarterback position. Desmond Ridder is expected to be the next quarterback but will need time to develop and Atlanta fans haven’t had an elite quarterback since Matt Ryan’s prime seemingly ended three seasons ago.

Wentz is the perfect option to come in and compete with Ridder a player who has all of the talent to succeed but wouldn’t be a threat to Ridder starting if the competition is at all close.
