1. Desmond Ridder wins the starting job

The best possible quarterback scenario for the Falcons is Desmond Ridder beating out veteran competition and Atlanta moving forward with the second-year quarterback. Evaluating Ridder in four games without one of his best targets in Kyle Pitts in what was for the most part meaningless football is difficult.

Atlanta isn’t going to hand Ridder the starting job and will either go out and acquire a clear starter or provide competition. Desmond winning the job and Atlanta having a reliable veteran behind him is the best-case scenario in that it allows the Falcons so much more flexibility with both their draft picks and cap space to go out and build a roster that can compete with any capable quarterback.

We watched both the Eagles and 49ers build complete rosters around the quarterback and contend each of the last two seasons at a high level. If Ridder is anything close to capable Atlanta can win games consistently considering what should be a greatly improved roster, an easy schedule, in what is arguably the worst division in the league. Ridder proving to be a franchise quarterback is the best possible situation for the Falcons.
