4 Best QB situations for the Atlanta Falcons in 2023
By Nick Halden
3. Add Justin Fields, Lamar Jackson, or Aaron Rodgers
In truth, neither of these quarterbacks is likely to be on the move. However, for Atlanta, if they aren’t moving forward with Ridder or getting a franchise quarterback in the draft the Falcons need to chase one of the top names that could be on the market.
Lamar and Fields seem very likely to stay in Baltimore and Chicago, respectively but if the Falcons aren’t in a position to draft or quarterback and don’t believe in Desmond Ridder they should attempt to put together an offer one of the two teams can’t refuse.
Aaron Rodgers is far more likely to be dealt but is a veteran quarterback who is looking to win within the next two seasons. Atlanta is a team making a push to contend but even with Rodgers is still a year or two away from making a Super Bowl push.
Any of these three quarterbacks would instantly become the best starter in the NFC South and easily have the Falcons hosting a playoff game. Putting aside the fact that two of the three are very unlikely to be moved the problem with this potential move becomes the hefty cost of adding any of these three both the trade cost and the toll the three players would have on your cap moving forward if traded.
