1. Dennis Allen is Derek Carr’s head coach

It is if one great game against Tom Brady as the head coach and one season of mediocrity is allowing everyone to forget what a terrible head coach Allen has been throughout his career. Allen has a career record of 15-38 in four seasons as a head coach.

In comparison to Arthur Smith who has gone 14-20 in two seasons while rebuilding. Allen isn’t a great head coach and is attempting to follow Sean Payton who haunted Atlanta for far too many seasons. Allen doesn’t deserve the same level of respect and isn’t going to be a challenge for Smith to outcoach if the Falcons build the roster they are capable of putting together this off-season.

Allen is a great coordinator but clearly isn’t a good head coach and won’t be a better option for Carr.  The head coach was given the chance based on what he did as a coordinator and having worked with Sean Payton. A head coach who was smart enough to see what was about to happen in New Orleans and jumped ship for Denver.
