15 Free agents the Atlanta Falcons should consider signing before week one
By Nick Halden
The Atlanta Falcons have plenty of cap space left to make at least one veteran addition before the season kicks off. While there is obviously a lot more depth than the Falcons have had in seasons past there are three positions in particular that stand out as potential needs.
Receiver, linebacker, and pass rusher are all spots Atlanta could improve heading into the season. While the pass rush has been greatly upgraded you can never have too many options for rotational edge rushers in today's league.
The receiver and linebacker positions clearly both lack any proven depth and are counting on last year's rookies to take a huge leap. Adding depth to either position is a wise decision for a team that clearly is looking to make a playoff push in a wide-open NFC South.
With a stacked run game and a defense that looks ready to become a respectable unit the Falcons shouldn't hesitate to use part of their remaining cap space to improve the roster. Atlanta's first priority should be reuniting with a former franchise player that clearly is running out of options at this point in their career and could end a historic career perfectly where it began.
