3 Free agents do-overs for Atlanta Falcons from 2023
By Nick Halden
Looking back at the Atlanta Falcons moves in free agency it is difficult to find any mistakes or bad decisions before a snap has been taken this season. Terry Fontenot appears to have done a fantastic job building a complete roster that should be a playoff team if Desmond Ridder is close to what the second-year quarterback is expected to be.
Even if Ridder were to suffer an injury or isn't the answer Taylor Heinicke is more than capable of leading this roster to a playoff berth speaking to the depth, ease of schedule, and poor division competition.
The quarterback position will be as easy as possible considering Atlanta's top targets and the fact they have three capable starters at running back. Patterson, Bijan Robinson, and Tyler Allgeier all have arguments as starters and clearly are the deepest unit in the league.
Robinson and Patterson should be expected to be used often as receivers as well considering Atlanta's lack of depth at the position and both player's skill sets. Whether it is Patterson in the slot or in the screen game Atlanta's backs will consistently play a role in the passing attack as well.
While this is great for Atlanta it would have been far better if the team had made one final move to cement what could still be a top-ten offense.
