5 Falcons who must improve to beat Saints and take control of NFC South
By Nick Halden
4. Any pass rusher not named Matthew Judon
It is Matthew Judon against the world when it comes to the Atlanta Falcons pass rush. It is stomach turning to imagine what the group would look like if not for the late trade addition of the former New England pass rusher. Just as it is frustrating to once again point out the complete lack of help that Terry Fontenot offered the position in a terrible draft class.
The Falcons are left starting Arnold Ebiketie and Lorenzo Carter on the other side of Judon. It is impossible for either player to get to the quarterback or finish the play if they manage to get close. Once again the pass rush is in the bottom of the league and the secondary is consistently under pressure.
The Falcons need to understand the desperation of the unit and dial up unique pressures until they are able to make an addition. Whether it is an aging veteran in free agency or a surprise trade it is impossible for the team not to get better results. For this week, either Judon must have a big game, or the interior must take advantage of the Saints' injuries.
