Where does Desmond Ridder rank among current NFC South starters?

4. Kyle Trask or Baker Mayfield
At least Tampa Bay fans have that Super Bowl run to cling to as the coaching and talent have both clearly taken a large downgrade over the past off-season. The question for Tampa moving forward is whether Mayfield or Trask wins what should be an ugly quarterback competition.
It is hard to see Trask beating out Baker considering the starting experience, however, Baker is two years removed from being a clear starting quarterback and has struggled badly during the past two seasons. Without a shoulder injury to blame last year's struggles on it is clear that this is the worst quarterback situation in the division.
Tampa should be mildly interesting based on their talent at receiver but lack the defensive depth to win games consistently. It wouldn't be at all surprising to see both these quarterbacks get a chance to start in 2023 with Tampa wanting to make sure Trask isn't the answer before attempting to target their next franchise quarterback.
Another interesting note here is the fact that Tampa has deemed Trask as good enough of an option to only sign Baker Mayfield. This is a full commitment to a rebuilding season as well as a clear want to further evaluate Trask.
