4) Brooks Reed appears to be thinner

Brooks Reed may just be the odd man out in 2016. But then again, he may turn out to be the Atlanta Falcons’ dark horse. Reed looked visibly thinner during the Falcons’ OTA workout and that could mean a possible move to inside linebacker.

Reed was brought in to be the Falcons’ starting strong side linebacker, but with Beasley moving to that position, he can pretty much kiss that job goodbye. So how do you make up for that? You lose weight and switch positions. Him moving to inside linebacker could mean two things. One, it could mean that Deion Jones won’t play as much inside linebacker as the thought. We could see him play more weak side.

And two, it could mean that Paul Worrilow is toast if this works out. If Reed actually is moving to the inside, having Jones, Worrilow and Reed playing the same position just doesn’t make sense. Both Jones and Reed can play other positions, but the same cannot be said about Worrilow. Worrilow is either going to make the team as a middle linebacker, or he’s going to get cut. It’s that simple.

But when it all comes down too it, expect Jones and Worrilow to battle it out for middle linebacker, and Reed backup Beasley at strong side linebacker.
