Matt Ryan’s Other Guys

By “other guys”, I was referring to one of our tight ends or depth wide receivers. It is crucial we can get at least one of them to step up. This is what I said in regards to them:

"We all know Julio Jones and Roddy White will ball out this year. We know what we have in Harry Douglas. Every receiver after them is a mystery, however. What I’m looking for is someone that can emerge from the pack, a potential x-factor."

That someone was Devin Hester.

A stunning route completely schools a good cornerback in Jason McCourty and after that, some instant acceleration and lightning feet gets him past the safety and into the endzone. It all happened in a flash and showed teams around the NFL we now have someone other than Julio Jones with gamebreaking potential.

Julio Jones and Roddy White will get the majority of targets but when bit part players can make valuable plays like Hester did, we should be very hard to defend. I mentioned Levine Toilolo contributing in the redzone which is just as valuable and impactful.
