Atlanta Falcons: Matt Ryan and Matt Bryant Take Home NFC Honors
By Sam Kweon
When Matt Ryan threw for over 440 yards and 3 TD’s and Matt Bryant kicked two 50 yard plus field goals to tie and win the game for the Atlanta Falcons against the New Orleans Saints, you didn’t think that this was going to unnoticed did you?
Well, it didn’t.
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week and kicker Matt Bryant has been named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for their stellar performances against the Saints.
“Matthew Ryan literally picked apart the Saints poor defense play after play, not throwing even one interception”
Starting with Matt Ryan, not only did he have a fantastic game but he found a way to break some all-time records.
He became the Falcons ALL-TIME leader in touchdown passes, while also setting a franchise record for the most yards in a single game (448 yards to be exact).
Then comes Matt Bryant.

Bryant literally was the hero of this game. He connected a 51 yard field goal as time expired in the fourth quarter to give the Falcons another chance in OT. But he didn’t stop there as he also booted YET ANOTHER 50+ yard field goal (52 yards) to this time winning the game for the Dirty Birds.
These two deserve these NFC Honors more than anyone else in the NFL, and it seems as if they got the recognition they deserved.
