Options at the eighth-overall pick

Starting with the draft, and Dustin Hockensmith of PennLive.com believes the Falcons have a number of options for the eighth-overall pick. He ranks the top five:

"“With the No. 8 pick, Atlanta still has a chance to land one of the draft’s elite pass-rushers. But there’s much competition for the talented quartet of Vic Beasley, Dante Fowler Jr., Randy Gregory and Shane Ray, with the Titans, Jaguars, Raiders, Redskins, Jets and Bears all in the market for talented edge players. Could one of those elite talents slip through to the Falcons?”"

Falcons build offensive line through draft

As Dusty Haralson of NFL Spin Zone writes, the Falcons have built their offensive line through the draft after a disappointing 2013 season:

"“After the abysmal 2013 season, it was clear what the Falcons needed in the 2014 NFL Draft: An offensive lineman. So with the sixth overall pick in the 2014 draft, Atlanta picked up offensive tackle Jake Matthews from Texas A&M. Matthews was a standout, blue-chip performer coming out of college, and he comes from a long line of successful NFL players.”"

Fowler would be perfect fit for Falcons

Per Vaughn McClure of ESPN, former Florida head coach Will Muschamp believes Dante Fowler Jr. would be a perfect fit for the Falcons:

"“Although most project Fowler to be off the board when the Falcons make the eighth-overall pick, anything could happen between now and then. A lot of experts project Fowler going to Jacksonville with the third-overall pick. Remember, the Falcons discussed a possible trade with the Jaguars last season to move up in case another team was interested in taking Jake Matthews before the Falcons did at No. 6.”"
