Trufant ready to step up as leader
“We’re going to play fast, we’re going to play physical, we’re going to be aggressive, we’re going to attack the ball. I’m loving it so far.”
Trufant was first asked about his impressions of Quinn and the offseason program:
"“I’m loving it, the energy is great,” Trufant said. “He just wants to get everybody comfortable. We’re going to play fast, we’re going to play physical, we’re going to be aggressive, we’re going to attack the ball. I’m loving it so far.”"
He also spoke about the ‘point of attack’ tapes Quinn had used and how he perceived Quinn’s new defensive scheme:
"“They made point of attack tapes for us. What I love about it so far is that it’s not too complicated. It’s going to allow us to play fast. Just how free we’re going to be, the simplicity of it, to allow us to go make plays out there.”"
Trufant was asked if he envisioned himself taking on a leadership role for the Falcons:
"“Yes, definitely. Regardless of what year you are, you can be a leader. For me, I’ve always lead by example with my work ethic. I’m willing to take that on, that’s a big responsibility but I’m willing to do that.”"
When asked about his new defensive coaches in Marquand Manuel and Raheem Morris, as well as the future of the team, Trufant seemed optimistic.
"“Great impressions, great coaches. You can just tell how excited they are to work with us, and the attention to detail that they have… I love it, I can’t wait. The sky’s the limit for us.”"
