Overview

While there are concerns with his pass-catching, route-running and blocking, with time he will be able to develop these skills.

What he already has is the physical tools and raw talent. With his size and vertical leap, Funchess just needs some polish to become a dangerous weapon in the Falcons’ system.

Funchess could thrive in the Atlanta offense and could fill the void left by Gonzalez.

"“He has the talent to help someone like Matt Ryan take their game to the next level because he could wind up being better than Tony Gonzalez was late in his career in Atlanta. The Falcons should definitely considerFunchess as a candidate for their second-round pick,” writes Scott Carasik of Bleacher Report."

Where will he fall?

Well, he was initially considered by many to be a late first round prospect, but a disappointing showing at the combine seems to have cooled the hype surrounding him.

Funchess is likely to fall at least to the second round, and could be there when the Falcons hit the clock with the 42nd overall pick. They may take a chance with him that early.

If Funchess falls to Falcons in the third round, he would be worth the risk.
