With no clear option at free safety, the convergence of talent and team need would make Eric Rowe an excellent selection for the Falcons at 42. A three year starter at safety before finishing his time in Utah at cornerback, Rowe could be the roving center fielder Dan Quinn had in Earl Thomas. One of the buzzwords of the offseason, Rowe’s ‘physical’ nature will endear him to the Falcons, as he competes at the point of catch and is more than happy to throw himself in against the run. Whilst not a truly speedy DB, Rowe’s ability to read the quarterback, combined with his versatility and frame, make him an ideal scheme fit at a position of need. He is undoubtedly a day one starter should he wind up in Atlanta.
