When looking at this list, after Jones it is a no-brainer who the next guy is. Desmond Trufant has been just what the Falcons had hoped when they traded up to get him 22nd overall in the 2013 NFL draft. Trufant finished 11th in the NFL in pass deflections with 16 and in a tie for ninth in his rookie season with 17 which broke the Falcons rookie record.

He has been without a doubt the best cornerback the Falcons have had in what has been a very weak Atlanta secondary in the past two seasons. As far as weakness go for Trufant, there aren’t any glaring ones at all. He has five interceptions through two seasons which is better than average and has had more than 60 tackles in each season. On a very weak Falcons defense, Trufant has been their diamond in the rough.
