Report: Tevin Coleman to make Atlanta Falcons debut against Miami Dolphins

We are finally going to get an opportunity to see third round pick Tevin Coleman in action, as he is set to debut against the Miami Dolphins Saturday night, per Andrew Hirsh of AtlantaFalcons.com.

"Following Thursday’s practice at Flowery Branch, head coach Dan Quinn said that, barring any setbacks, Tevin Coleman will make his Falcons debut Saturday in Miami. The rookie tailback has been sidelined with a hamstring injury for most of August.“We anticipate him being ready to rock,” Quinn said."

This is great news for the Atlanta Falcons, who finally get the opportunity to see what the rookie can do on an NFL field. He’s been sidelined with a hamstring injury and missed the Falcons’ opening two preseason games.

Coleman is currently battling with Devonta Freeman to be Atlanta’s starting running back, but the competition has stalled of late with both men out with hamstring issues. Freeman’s status for the game is unclear. If he misses the trip to Miami, it will give Coleman an excellent opportunity to make an impact.

Not only does he have a chance to impress coach Dan Quinn, but it will also be so beneficial to get his first taste of NFL action and get reps under his belt. Getting used to playing in Kyle Shanahan’s zone blocking scheme against a strong defense will help him a lot.

Tevin Coleman, here’s your chance to shine.
