Atlanta Falcons vs. Washington Redskins: Tale of the tape
The defenses
The Falcons defense is a work in progress under Dan Quinn, and we’ve seen some improvements. While the pass defense has given up plenty of yards, the average was knocked down by 21 ‘garbage time’ points scored by the Texans last week.

Against the run, Atlanta has been outstanding. The unit will need to be as good again up against the league’s top-ranked run offense. Putting the game in Cousins’ hands is the key to winning, so bottling up the run is a must.
The Redskins defense is somewhat underrated. They will make life difficult for Devonta Freeman with their second-ranked run defense. They rank 10th against the pass, but it’s going to be tough to stop Ryan and Jones if they hit stride.
Atlanta has the advantage on offense, but Washington has it on defense. It should make for an interesting battle.
