The Saints aim to take out the Falcons one way or another
By Curtis Hobbs
After the beat down the New Orleans Saints received from the Eagles last weekend, it only added to the embarrassing tape this year.
In his remarks, Brees said he didn’t want to hear about the team being “too young or too old”, He, as well as anyone else, knows that these are horrible excuses that merely cover up the underlying problem of ineptitude on the field. But they also show that everyone is frustrated by the losses, and that adds more aggression to an already heated rivalry with Atlanta, and that anger and displeasure could very well result in actions that will not make the New Orleans Saints mothers proud.
For Atlanta, they must protect their prized possessions – Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, and Devonta Freeman, as they will be targeted more as the Saints try to level the playing field. To New Orleans, they do not match up well with the “hot” Falcons whose offense has been hard to stop all year for every NFL team they’ve faced. And if the Saints can’t compete on athleticism or scheme alone, it is going to give way to cheap shots that will only fuel the hatred between both teams.
If the Saints go down by a couple of touchdowns, the Falcons may want to consider pulling some of their irreplaceable players in lieu of what is about to take place.

New Orleans has nothing to lose. If they lose this game as they will continue to float around the bottom of the division standings, but the Falcons season could be lost with a long-term injury to one of these players. And with the Carolina Panthers continuing to make their claim for best team in the division, these cheap shots and injuries must be avoided the best way possible.
In the end, all that matters is that the Atlanta Falcons come out with a win against the Saints to preserve their quest at the NFL playoffs, but let’s hope that Dan Quinn and the coaching staff will see that these Saints are going to attempt to beat them one way or the other.
There’s a reason why these teams hate each other, and the cheap shots and injury reports that are expected in this game could only add fuel to the hatred. But, for the Falcons, this is something that they must attempt to avoid at all costs.
