Who to watch
Matt Ryan
Matt Ryan wouldn’t normally make the list, but his performances have been below standard in recent weeks, and he needs to turn it around. Will it happen in this game? Limiting his turnovers and hitting his targets more often is needed.
The offensive funk all starts with the quarterback, and better play from him will lift the entire unit. Could this be the game where we see the real Matt Ryan?
Justin Hardy
It’s finally time. Rookie receiver Justin Hardy has been patiently waiting for his debut after sitting out of the first seven games this year. Due to the injuries of Leonard Hankerson and Nick Williams, it looks like Hardy will make the start.
How will the Falcons utilize him? Will he be used largely in the slot? Will he play best on short to intermediate routes, or will they send him deep?
Robert Alford
The Buccaneers will want to get wideout Mike Evans one-on-one with a cornerback not named Desmond Trufant. Robert Alford could be the guy, and he will draw the tough assignment of limiting Evans’ production.
With Evans’ size and frame, it’s almost impossible to stop him when he gets going. If Alford lines up opposite him, he will need to limit his production.
