Jalen Collins was a surprise to many Falcons fans when he was drafted in the second round because of how raw he is, but Thomas Demitroff is known for drafting players like that. Demitroff drafted Ra’Shede Hageman in 2014, knowing that he would need at least a year before he would be ready to provide and the same was said about Collins.
Collins had a pretty rough training camp and start to the season, but as of late has played fairly good. Collins has all but won a starting job at cornerback with solid play in the last two weeks and will now have an even bigger role this week with Robert Alford not playing.
Collins has surprised a lot of people in the last few weeks and I would expect that to continue. He still has a long way to go and will likely have some bad games in the near future, but we all knew that would happen when we drafted him.
