Fantasy Football Week 12: Start Em’ Sit Em’ for Falcons-Vikings
It’s fantasy football time, and a look ahead to the NFC showdown between the Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings. Who should you start and sit this week?
It’s Week 12, and the playoffs are in sight. Two teams in the hunt for postseason are football are the Atlanta Falcons (6-4) and Minnesota Vikings (7-3). There are some players in this game that could help your bid to reach your own fantasy playoffs.
Start with confidence
You can’t not start Jones, no matter who the Falcons are playing. Jones is matchup proof, and is a WR1 all the way. He is one of the league’s top receivers and has been outstanding in fantasy too.
Like Jones, you can’t not start Peterson. Peterson is behind only Devonta Freeman for fantasy points among running backs. He has a tough matchup here, but he’s too good and gets too many touches not to start.
Be cautious
The Vikings give up the seventh fewest points to opposing running backs, so this is a tough matchup for the rookie. Despite that, Coleman will get a lot of touches in Devonta Freeman’s absence, so he could be a solid flex option.
Diggs’ fantasy numbers have been declining of late, and the Falcons give up the third fewest points to wide receivers. Still, he remains one of Teddy Bridgewater‘s top targets.
Rudolph hit double digit fantasy points for the first time this season in last week’s loss to Green Bay, and Atlanta gives up the seventh most fantasy points to tight ends. However, Rudolph’s slow season makes him hard to trust.
Sit
Ryan has underachieved from a fantasy perspective all year long, and this isn’t a great matchup. The Vikings allow the seventh fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, and Ryan has been too frustrating to start.
Teddy Bridgewater
Much like Ryan, Bridgewater hasn’t been a great fantasy option this year. The Falcons give up the fourth fewest points to quarterbacks. If you need a quarterback, there should be better options you can pick up. This week, Brian Hoyer has a great matchup.
Tamme is way too inconsistent, and he draws a tough matchup against the Vikings. His role has increased on offense and he could get more touches with Leonard Hankerson out, but it’s tough to trust Tamme.

Falcons D/ST
The Falcons D/ST has the sixth fewest points total this year, and the Vikings offense has been strong this season. With Atlanta’s struggles on offense, the defense has been on the field for longer.
Vikings D/ST
Atlanta has struggled offensively of late and they have turned the football over, but there are better streaming options. The Falcons have a number of playmakers despite their struggles. The Minnesota D/ST has been surprisingly poor for fantasy points this season.
Injured players
Falcons: RB Devonta Freeman (out), WR Leonard Hankerson (out)
