Atlanta Falcons’ playoff hopes ride on game with Buccaneers

The Atlanta Falcons have officially hit rock bottom heading into a much-anticipated division game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Well, let’s hope that they have hit rock bottom and won’t continue to fall.

The Falcons were a lock to make the playoffs after the first five games of the year and now have piddled away just about every chance they have of making it into the playoffs for the first time since 2012.

If the Falcons can go into Tampa and knock off the Buccaneers, the Falcons stand a good shot of making it into the playoffs, but if they lose, there chances of making it are done. It’s that simple.

The Falcons don’t have much going for them heading into this matchup. They have lost four consecutive games and have already lost to this Buccaneers team earlier in the year. And to top it all off, they will be on the road which is never easy, especially when its a division game.

The Falcons have two things going for them. A likely return of Devonta Freeman will help boost the Falcons’ offense and the much-anticipated return of return man Devin Hester will also help spark the Flacons’ team as whole.

While both men are still in question to play this Sunday, their return alone would make a huge impact to a team that needs anything and everything at this point in the season.

The Falcons have the toughest remaining schedule in all of the NFL due in large part to the undefeated Carolina Panthers being on the schedule twice. there are no easy games left for the Flacons and will have to do it the hard way if they want to make it back to the playoffs.

Can Matt Ryan get out of his funk? Can the Falcons’ defense force James Winston to make bad decisions? Can Kyle Shanahan resign? We will all have to wait and see.
