Falcons run defense vs. Doug Martin

Doug Martin holds the key for the Buccaneers, and he is the Falcons’ priority on defense. They played him well in the previous meeting a month ago, holding him to 71 yards on his 23 carries. The Bucs posted 117 yards on the ground in total, which is good enough for the Falcons to win. They will need a similar day to keep No. 22 out of the end zone.

Which quarterback will have the better day?

The last time these two played, Matt Ryan went 37-of-45 for 397 yards, two touchdowns and a pick. Jameis Winston went 16-of-29 for 177 yards and a touchdown. Ryan was more productive, but he was also responsible for two turnovers. He was picked off once and fumbled a handoff to Devonta Freeman. Avoid those mistakes and he could give Atlanta the advantage.

A sense of urgency?

After losing their past four games, the Falcons will need to come out with a sense of urgency. That’s not to be reckless or over-aggressive, but they should be bold, confident and play with the knowledge they must win. The Bucs will have a similar attitude.
