The Atlanta Falcons start the week as underdogs against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

This week, the Atlanta Falcons hit the road for a third straight week to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars. One of these teams enters the game on a six-game losing run, the other comes in fresh off a blowout victory putting up 51 points.

Before the season, which team would you think was which?

As it turns out, the struggling team is the Falcons, who have now dropped seven games in eight weeks. Due to this, it’s no surprise to see the Jaguars kick off the week as three-point favorites, per OddsShark.

The good news for the Falcons is the Jaguars defense has struggled this season. Jacksonville is No. 22 in total defense, No. 26 against the pass and No. 13 against the run. They are allowing 28.4 points per game, third most in the league. If there was a game for the Falcons to get back on track offensively, this would be it.

Unfortunately, the Falcons defense has fallen away somewhat in the past couple of weeks. That could be a problem against the Jaguars offense, a unit that posted 38 points against the Jaguars (13 points were scored on defense and special teams).

The Falcons are now 6-7 and will almost certainly sit at home in January looking in at the playoffs. After starting the season 5-0, you can be forgiven for being frustrated at the run of form the past two months.

As the season fades away, Dan Quinn will want his team to get back on track and finish the season in a strong way, even if it counts for nothing. For now, the Falcons are three-point underdogs to the up and coming Jaguars.
