Before the season, the Philadelphia Eagles were considered a team capable of winning the NFC East and making a run at the Super Bowl. Was Chip Kelly mad or a genius? He let the likes of Jeremy Maclin, DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy all walk in a couple of years, but he brought in DeMarco Murray, Sam Bradford, Kiko Alonso and Byron Maxwell.

But what a mess the 2015 Eagles have been. Tony Romo has been out for almost the entire season in Dallas which ruled the Cowboys out of contention. It appeared a clear path to the division title had opened for the Eagles, but Kelly’s team couldn’t take advantage. And now, after being torched by Kirk Cousins, the Eagles sit at 6-9 and out of the playoffs again.

All of this has cost Chip Kelly his job. The DeMarco Murray situation has been embarrassing and the 2014 rushing champion hasn’t lived up to his lofty pay check. Sam Bradford hasn’t looked comfortable in Kelly’s offense all season and nobody has filled the void left by Jeremy Maclin. So what’s next? Whoever takes over as head coach has a lot to figure out.
