Atlanta Falcons vs Los Angeles Rams in 2016 will be grand
The NFL made major headlines yesterday when they announced that the St. Louis Rams would be relocating to Inglewood, California and changing their name back to the Los Angeles Rams.
The Rams moved from Los Angeles to St. Louis 20 years ago and have been rumored to be making a return back to the west coast for several years now.
While the week-by-week Atlanta Falcons’ schedule has yet to be released, we already know that the Falcons will be making a trip to take on the now Los Angeles Rams in their new stadium at some point next season.
The Falcons have a long history with the Rams after spending many years in the NFC West division together, so to be one of the first teams to play them as a relocated franchise is only fitting.
Atlanta currently holds a 3-game winning streak over the Rams dating back to 2007 and have won five out of the last six games against them.
The Falcons also hold a 4-game winning streak of the then Los Angeles Rams dating back to 1993 and have won eight out of the last nine games played against Los Angeles.
The relocation of the Rams means that the Falcons will play three games in the state of California in 2016 which could mean a lot of traveling if the league elects not to give Atlanta back-to-back games on the west coast.
The Rams’ roster is full of talent including running back Todd Gurley who played his collegiate football a the University of Georgia just down the road from the Falcons’ complex in Flowery Branch.

While it’s a shame that the football fans of St. Louis will have to deal with their team moving halfway across the country, it will be awesome to get to experience the Rams’ new stadium and be involved in the team’s first season back after being away for a long time.
