Kansas City Chiefs at New England Patriots (-4.5)

The Kansas City Chiefs enter this game red hot; the New England Patriots ice cold. Historically, teams have struggled entering the postseason on a two-game losing streak. And you’ll be hard pressed to find a team that heads into the playoffs on the back of straight wins that had to play on Wild Card Weekend.

But play they did, and dominate they did. A 30-0 crushing of the Houston Texans means they are a feared team entering Gillette Stadium this week. The reigning Super Bowl champions will have their hands full, and must play a whole lot better than they have in recent weeks.

Julian Edelman is set to return for the Patriots, and this is huge. How effective will he be? That’s the big question. Meanwhile, the Chiefs will likely be without Jeremy Maclin who injured his ankle against Houston. Again, that’s huge.

These are the Patriots, and they are playing playoff football at home. It’s hard to pick a team that’s played so poorly recently up against the hottest team in football. But this is Tom Brady, and this is house.

It won’t be a pretty victory, but Brady will get it done. The loss of Maclin will be too much to overcome for the Chiefs.

Pick: New England 27, Kansas City 20
