Atlanta Falcons: Updated 2016 Mock Draft
Round 2, Pick 50: WR Josh Doctson, 6’3 195 lbs, TCU
There is a noticeable hole at the #2 WR spot. Fan favorite Roddy White may possibly be a Falcon again in 2016 as rumors have swirled that the team may be interested bringing back the longtime vet and even if that does happen, his role will be diminished. Enter the tall wide-out from TCU, Josh Doctson. Good size at 6’3 and could use a little more bulk. Doctson is such a mismatch that the lack of bulk may not be an impactful “flaw”. For a receiver with his size, Doctson has made a name in college for being a legit deep threat. Another element Doctson brings to the Falcons offense is superb length and excellent leaping ability. The addition of Doctson gives QB Matt Ryan another target to go along with 6’4 220 Julio Jones and the solid slot option in Justin Hardy.
Other names to consider: WR Tyler Boyd, WR Braxton Miller, S Jeremy Cash, LB Kentrell Brothers
