Will the Falcons sign Alshon Jeffery?

Regardless of how you feel about veteran receiver Roddy White, he is going to go down as a franchise great BUT the NFL is a what can you do for me now league and Roddy isn’t the same player he used to be regardless on how to try to put it. The team made a slight effort in trying to improve the depth at receiver with the additions of Justin Hardy and Nick Williams but they’re aren’t a long-term solution..

Making an effort into getting Jeffery would require a lot more money than I believe that Atlanta is willing to spend. Jeffery will probably require a 5-year, $45-60 million contract and when there are other valuable players that can be signed much cheaper.

In the span over four years, Jeffrey has recorded 3,728 receiving yards, 24 touchdowns, and 252 receptions. He was also graded out as the third best wide out by Pro Football Focus.

I don’t necessarily believe that Falcons have to spend a lot of money to secure a wide out that fits Shanahan’s system, stretch the field, versatile enough to line up inside and out, and take away pressure from Julio. Player like Marvin Jones, Travis Benjamin, and Brain Quick are all players that could be a name Falcon fans get to hear about soon.

To sum it all up, Alshon is a great player with nice skill sets but I don’t the Falcons are willing to spend that much on a receiver with much bigger needs along the roster.
